This deathmatch level, Gib Ring, by Steve Lyne is a good deathmatch level for the Quake 2 player. It is a level that will please
the savage rocket fighter and the quiet railgun camper. One of the things that I saw to be a drawback was the constant jumping up
on boxes. Some may like this though, but in a deathmatch I don't want to do that in fear of getting hit from behind or making too
much noise. Other than that one Flaw I found the map visually pleasing. The wealth of ammo and weapons well makes up for the
jumping.
Over a TCP/IP connection, this game was fun and didn't get old like 2fort4 does. When I played it with a friend we both found
it interesting to find a new route to take or find a new hiding place. The teleporters also make help make for more possibilities as to
what a person's strategy can be. Although I would recommend 8 or more players this game was still fun with just two. This map
would also be good for a clan war or a teamplay game via the Internet.
So if you are looking for a good all around deathmatch map that doesn't get boring or repetitive, look no further, this map is the
one for you!
